Becky | Class of 2013 | Portland, CT Senior Photographer

It’s been over a month since my last blog post & lots of things happened in that month! Looks like I am going to have to do A LOT of catching up! First I am going to start out with my first Senior session of this year. This day turned out to be an amazing day with amazing light. Becky and I had rescheduled her initial session because of the Thunderstorms that were predicted, not to mention it was 96 degrees outside & not very comfortable picture taking weather. We waited 1 week. Everything was going fine, then about 2 hours before the session I started noticing dark black clouds rolling in, I immediately put on the weather station to find out what was going on. According to them it was going to be dangerous thunderstorms for that night, to stay indoors nice and safe. We waited it out to see what would happen. About 15 minutes before we left, we chatted again, noticed that the sky toward West Hartford was nice and clear, but the dark gloomy rain clouds were toward New Haven direction. At that moment we decided we would at least try for the session, Becky was really excited and really wanted to have her session. The weather channel was even more sure that this storm was coming and even more dangerous than when we first noticed it, we didn’t listen. Since we were leaving from the same town, we decided to carpool, the entire way it felt like we were storm chasers; keeping an eye out to where the clouds where. The entire way on the highway we saw them. Once we pulled into Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, the sky was clear and no storm clouds to be seen. We spent the entire 2 hour session with gorgeous light and got some AMAZING pictures of Becky. After we left, we checked our phones, and this Thunderstorm fell off of the radar. It never happened. So glad we were able to have her session and even happier with the way the day turned out. Definitely a day to remember.
