This high school senior photography session took place on a beautiful Connecticut horse farm, and it was such a meaningful way to capture this senior in his element. Farm sessions are perfect for seniors who want photos that feel natural, relaxed, and true to who they are.
We started the session with portraits alongside his horse, which immediately helped him feel comfortable. When seniors are photographed doing something they love, the session feels less like “posing for photos” and more like just being themselves—and it always shows in the final images.
After capturing portraits with the horse, we spent time walking around the farm, chatting about his future plans after high school. These candid moments created some of the most genuine images from the session. Even though he admitted he wasn’t a fan of being in front of the camera, he did an amazing job and quickly relaxed once he was in his familiar environment.
A Great Location for Senior Guys Who Hate the Camera
Horse farms are an ideal location for senior boys who don’t love photos. The open space, movement, and connection to something meaningful help create portraits that feel authentic instead of forced. This session was a great reminder that senior photos don’t have to feel awkward or uncomfortable.
As a Connecticut high school senior photographer, my goal is to create a laid-back experience where seniors can feel confident and at ease—especially those who might be camera-shy.
