Newborn Pose Guide | Types of Newborn Poses | CT Newborn Photographer

There are tons of newborn photography poses and it can be hard to describe them all. I created this newborn pose guide to help bridge the gap between photographer terms and moms so we can all be on the same page. If you see a pose that is not on this list, reach out and I can certainly add them to the guide.

Bum Up

This pose is characterized by the baby being on their belly with their bum up. This one is such a classic and can be used for many different angles & prop variations. 

Side Lying

Froggy, or heads on hands

The froggy pose is a composite images of 2 different images that are photoshopped later to take the parents hands out of the photo. Baby is always supported during this pose. This pose requires the baby to be in a deep sleep for maximum safety.
